I'm using Tapestry
4.0.1 and tacos4-beta-3-20060509-1708-lib (a nightly build since beta-3 is
not available).
I have a Tapestry
project that has one page with several AjaxForms that are submitted using
AjaxEventSubmit events with Tapestry TextField and DatePicker components tied
with the eventListener="onchange....." parameter.
During processing of
AJAX events Tacos ignores browser events. For instance I have one field
and a 'save' button. The one field posts an AjaxForm during the onchange
event because I need to update a text string on the page. If the user
enters text and then immediately clicks on the save button the click on the save
button doesn't happen because the page (dojo?) was busy with a seemingly a full
round trip. This is exactly the type of problem I was hoping to solve with
Tacos and Tapestry/AJAX - the previous version of this page did post the
entire page and the click on the save button was ignored during the
process.
This seems to be compounded by seeming slow operation of
tacos/dojo: the page is really slow as you enter information in the TextFields
and tab out. It seems to be much slower than a full page repost would
be.
Another problem is as a TextField causes a submit of an
AjaxForm when the response is rendered the keyboard focus is set back to the
first field on the page (not the first field on the form). I cannot use
the Form.focus property because I have several AjaxForms and the keyboard focus
might go to the 'next' AjaxForm, which is not being updated.
Anybody have any clues as to how I can solve these two
problems?
