Using the Inspector in Firebug I was able to get the id. However, I am
getting an error that dojo.byId("entryPanel_container") has no
properties null using either of the javascript lines you provided. 

Looking on the DOM tab it shows that the entryPanel_container of the
floatingPane is in the innerHtml. Would this be why it is null when I
try to access the div by id?

just take a look with firebug's inspect and find the correct div id to
use
