Yes, the change was made :

But we haven't changed the actual prototype version, just fixed the version
number checking to include 1.5 and 1.6. We were pretty sure that this
prototype change doesn't brake any tacos code, but we didn't want to force
everyone to upgrade.
I haven't seen that assertion error, i will have a look.
