If it's just to clarify the proposal by adding few comments, why not. It would be different if the proposal itself is shifting to something new and/or different from the "vote" beginning. If you see that the proposal needs more work, you can stop the process at any time, rework the document and restart the vote later. This is really the aim of the process : get feedbacks and improve the proposal until it reaches some consensus.
