I agree with Craig concerning the use of word "literature" and suggest simply using books:genre, to make use of the existing key. Having two keys "book" and "books" would be confusing. Besides, the current tag seems to me to be overlapping with what is proposed. It is now indeed used for types of books, but I don't see any harm in using it for the type or for the genre, whatever applicable.
