This is for books where people enter their names, routes and comments. These books are located on peaks, along trails, in buildings and in caves. In German we call them Gipfelbuch, Steigbuch, Hüttenbuch, Gästebuch, Höhlenbuch, Pilgerbuch, Turmbuch... English terminology seems more ambiguous.
