I agree. This was an absolutely awful, boneheaded choice for a tag, when we already had a much better way to tag the same thing. I have no issue with automatically replacing the existing waterway=derelict_canal with waterway=canal and disused=yes. There's just no reason to keep the former tag. -- Shawn K.
