There was some kind of vote on the Belgian mailing list a few years ago to chose between just "<stopname>" or "<placename> <stopname>". The latter had more voters. Hence, all stops should have the combined name. I never liked it (for the reasons mentioned by Frederik & Colin), put some others thought it would be nice to have the same name as in the timetable books. The placename is never mentioned on the bus stop.
