generally species and genus refer to the tagged object. The zoo enclosures
aren’t the objects where these tags would fit, and we are not tagging the
animals themselves but their enclosures, aren’t we?

We could have a tag like for_species= and allow a list of species there.

the localized species tag have been introduced to allow tagging of information
without knowing the scientific name, but it has some drawbacks (can be
ambiguous, requires further translation if you intend to make sense of values
in different languages, ...) so generally I would encourage latin names where
possible (in zoos you can often see them on signs).

A part from zoos, we are also mostly missing tags for animal enclosures in
agricultural context by the way (pasture, open air/grazing parts of stables,
pigsties, hen houses, cowsheds, sheep shelter , etc., enclosures at slaughter
houses, etc)
