You talk of a "lateral projection" (i.e.projection to the side). I would say
that is just part of the bridge, even if it an extension in a different
material, as seems to be the case here.
Then you talk of "handrail" and "fence". IMHO there is a fence on each side of
the footpath, which you could map as such.

How do you tag this lateral protection on the river side (right-hand side
in the picture) of a foot bridge ?

Is it a separate element (fence?) or is it a handrail?
These are frequent and also important from a safety-point of view. For that
reason I would would like to map also the (esimated) height, but on what
type of structure?
