I somehow doubt that the traffic sign specifies the maximum actual weight, most likely it sets the maximum permitted weight of the vehicle at full load, as specified by the manufacturer.
If this is the case, there are examples in the wiki to tell that the limit applies only to certain classes of vehicles https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:maxweightrating probably a: maxweightrating:hgv=x applies.
