The Unix password should be sync'ed up with CVS automatically.  Can you
log to a shell account with SSH?  (If not, you'll need to send mail to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and ask them to reset your password to something and tell
you what it is -- then, you can log in and change it to a known value).

Also, be sure you're using the correct CVSROOT when you log in, per the
docs on the web site.  For you, that would be:

        :pserver:catlett@localhost:/home/cvs
