A while back, Glenn suggested that we form some guidelines for how to release tag libraries. Well, I just took a stab at it. Please look at these notes and provide some feedback: http://jakarta.apache.org/cvsweb/index.cgi/~checkout~/jakarta-taglibs/HOWTO-RELEASE?rev=1.1&content-type=text/plain Here's what I addressed: 1) How to version releases and create branches 2) How to create/use the "news" section Here's what I didn't: 1) How to literally post release jars on the site 2) How to put documentation on the site 3) probably lots of other stuff Let me know what you think. If we agree in principle, I suggest we start creating stable jars for our first "1.0" releases. - Morgan > -----Original Message----- > From: Glenn Nielsen [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Thursday, March 15, 2001 3:42 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Jakarta-taglibs taglib releases > > > Jakarta-taglibs has had a number of tag libs contributed and released > in the last 6 months, but from what I can tell, there is no documented > process for releasing a taglib and getting it published to > the website. > > There needs to be a HOWTO-RELEASE document in jakarta-taglibs > that documents > what files a taglib needs to have in place in order to be published to > the website and how to officially relase a taglib.
