Hi, I know your question has been answered, but I'd recommend you get the examples .war file for your distribution of JSTL.
Here's the URL for JSTL 1.0 http://apache.ntcity.co.uk/jakarta/taglibs/standard-1.0/ It gives neat little examples of all the JSTL tags and how to use them. It may help going forward.
