Cannot inherit from final class

This message is being logged by Tomcat on startup, complete with stack 
trace leading to xerces jars; the jars in turn reside in a /WEB-INF/lib 
and originate from the  January 27 jakarta-taglibs-standard-1.0.5 download.

The solution in this instance is to replace all xerces related archives 
with fresh ones (2.6.2, of February 20) from http://xml.apache.org/.

Tomcat is 4.1.8, java is Sun JSDK 1.4.2_03, os is Main$tream from the 
most innovative software company, 2000 Professional.
