Dick, What Servlet and JSP specification version is JBoss 4.0.5 based on?
The compatibility chart for EL and web.xml I've known from experience is: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JSTL 1.2 works with Servlet 2.5/ JSP 2.1 which is the spec for Tomcat 6.0.x ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JSTL 1.1.x works with Servlet 2.4/ JSP 2.0 which is the spec for Tomcat 5.5.x ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JSTL 1.0 works with Servlet 2.3/ JSP 1.2 which is the spec for Tomcat 4.1.x --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the web.xml web-app / DTD / Schema are different for each of the above versions of the Servlet spec.
