This is why I was skeptical about aliases in the first place. I admit they seem handy, but they add one to the number of concepts users have to keep straight about Tahoe's filesystem structure.
If users had to cut and paste or back-tick-back-tick a cap onto the command-line every time they wanted to access a directory, at least they wouldn't mistakenly think that access was being stored somewhere in Tahoe. Personally I don't use aliases, but I mostly don't use the cli at all -- I mostly use the wui where there is already a built-in feature for this -- the browser bookmarks.
