Hello, Ludovic Courtès! Kevin Reid contributed an improved tahoe.css since the Tahoe v1.4.1 release. If the .deb for Etch that you are using is more recent than v1.4.1 then perhaps this explains it -- you have Kevin's new CSS file.
Here's how to tell: is the web interface incredibly ugly and klunky? Then you're using the old CSS file! ;-) Oh, actually here is a better way to tell: if the version you are running is equal to or newer than v1.4.1-r3881 then you have the new CSS.
