Thanks a lot for the notes, Alex! It does indeed look like the RADOS layer of Ceph has a lot in common with LAFS and maybe we can learn from things they've done that we've only imagined. Also, I wonder if the POSIX↔object-storage layer of Ceph, which I guess is "the Ceph MDS nodes"? Could be pressed into service to back in to LAFS instead of RADOS.
