The other patches are minor. I added --ignore-externals to svn update, and git's "nothing to commit" message must have changed slightly over time.
The --ignore-externals was added by a previous patch, while git's change needs some tweak as I wasn't able to adapt your patch to current code, so that requires some git-guy attention.
