All this is entirely correct. It also feels quite dry to my ear. Let me expand a bit on it and explain why: the Tails boot process tries hard, on purpose, *not* to use anything that's on the internal drives, because we don't want to trust it. So, implementing what you want requires to manually turn off some protection offered by Tails, and nobody has researched what the exact implications of the way you do it would be. Same for other Tails features, such as persistence, automatic upgrades, and Tails Installer. (Anyone feels like adding this to the FAQ, or filing a ticket with my answer as an initial draft for the answer?
