I'd rather wait to have official UEFI support to really work on that. Because the situation hasn't changed much until now actually. For people who manage to start Tails, they often end up with problems with Wi-Fi or graphics, which are not specific to Tails but are inherited from the Linux kernel. So we didn't really like the idea of keeping track of that information that is not specific to Tails ourselves. > ----------------------------------- > *** Call for testing: > ----------------------------------- > > 1 report new test iso for uefi booted and created > persistent volume on computer that could not boot > or create persistent volume with current 0.23. > Believe user used nightly april 22, 2014. This UEFI ISO is a big success: I've seen a big majority of successes and almost no reports of failure so far. > ----------------------------------- > *** Issues: > ----------------------------------- > > User reported that he could not boot Tails on a Chromebook > C720 (received out of memory error before loading initramfs) > user reported if he appended "mem=1500M" in boot options, Tails > would boot fine. Unfortunately, without a proper WhisperBack bug report and even better, a contact address, we can't investigate that any further... > This user also posted "i can boot the machine by translating > between the syslinux liveamd64 config and grub's instruction set, > which lets me run Tails fine." Interesting. I'm forwarding that info to the people developing Tails Installer. > ---------------------------------- > *** Known Issues: > ---------------------------------- > > User said that he manually added a hidden folder to the > persistent folder and it made his whole persistent volume > folder disappear when he rebooted. I think this person also contacted us through WhisperBack. > 1 user posted: > I was reading https://tails.boum.org/blueprint/UEFI/syslinux/ > and https://tails.boum.org/blueprint/UEFI/ and > https://labs.riseup.net/code/issues/5739 . > FWIW, I just wanted to let you know that the current upstream > Syslinux 6.03-pre11 has several relevant improvements/corrections > over the current Syslinux package in Debian experimental (6.03-pre1). > -- Notice(zwiebelbot): [Tails#5739: Support UEFI boot - Tails] Forwarding this info as well. > ---------------------------------- > *** Features: > ---------------------------------- > > 1 user posted this: > "i think the tails installer could be a bit friendlier by > noticing that the device is too small in the first place > and emitting a human-readable warning." I think that's already tracked by: https://labs.riseup.net/code/issues/6538 -- sajolida
