I was not aware of such issue before you reported it.

This was a bug in Tails 1.1~beta1 which is not affecting Tails 1.0.1.
Note that it has been solved and won't affect Tails 1.1 either.

As you might already know, Tails includes TrueCrypt only for backward
compatibility [1] and we are not actively maintain it. So I don't think
that we will fix this issue.

As a workaround I suggest you to change your password to avoid those
problematic characters. If you store it in KeePassx, you can make it
very long and very secure with the need for special characters. Please
also consider migrating to LUKS encrypted volumes [2].
