Hi, I never used WebDAV myself so I'm surely missing some context here.

Last month some people on this list reported connecting using dav://
(but not davs://) on an .onion address using Nautilus. But if I
understood correctly they had problems connecting

When trying to use davs:// they faced this error:

nautilus:
Could not display "davs://[email protected]/dav/username".
Error: HTTP Error: Cannot connect to destination
Please select another viewer and try again.

I'm put them into copy, and maybe they can provide further input.

If we confirm this problem (dav:// working but not davs://) then we
should check whether this is still the case in the upcoming Tails 1.1
version [1], to be released on July 22. And definitely create a ticket
for that on Redmine if needed [2].
