Hi, we tried everything we could think about but epic failed to
configure, on Tails, claws-mail's smtp to work with ruggedinbox.com
we have inspected the iptables rules, syslog for dropped packets, tried
with and without torsocks, changed all the possible knobs in claws
config while debugging both client and server side ..
On 'vanilla' debian, torsocks + claws-mail works ok.
On Tails, no idea why it fails.
So we tried to apt-get install icedove, manually installed torbirdy
0.1.4, configured an account
and both POP and SMTP worked at the first shot.
Knowing that Tails blocks any 'direct' connection
and that torbirdy automatically sets
user_pref("mail.smtpserver.default.hello_argument", "127.0.0.1");
in thunderbird / icedove's prefs.js,
do you think that we can suggest our users to use this combo ?
Or have we missed some bug / leak ?
