I am a new Tails user (Tails 2 - current version) and am running a USB stick
install with persistance. I am very impressed with Tails. Works great. I am
only having one issue - setting up my printer.
I am using a Lenovo V570 laptop and an HP Deskjet-6980 printer. The printer is
supported (I checked the OpenPrinting database).
When I try to add the printer, Tails gives me a "Failed to add new printer"
error.
Here are the steps I am taking to add the printer:
1. Start Tails with administrative password and enable persistance.
2. Turn on the printer and connect it via USB cable.
3. Go to: Applications - System Tools - Settings - Printers.
4. I select Add New Printer. "Deskjet-6980" is displayed in the printer list. I
select the printer in the list and click "Add". I then get the "Failed to add
new printer" error.
Am I doing something incorrectly? I tried the same steps above with a HP
Ultrabook with the same results.
Thoughts from the group would be greatly appreciated.
