I actually got the emergency shutdown and regular power off fixed this time!!!
All I had to do was to run Tails in failsafe mode. I figured I’d try it out
when I noticed that the emergency shutdown worked once every 20 times I used
Tails. It wasn’t exactly 20, but it was around that number. Then I read about
how the failsafe mode changes some kernel stuff and tried the shutdown and it
works!
