Tails supports LUKS (via cryptsetup), which is a great alternative to
TrueCrypt for many use-cases, but doesn't support hidden volumes. There
is documentation about using LUKS for encrypted volumes at

Persistent volumes in Tails are encrypted using the same system.

There certainly is demand for TrueCrypt support and hidden volumes. See e.g.

but it is not clear (at least to me) when and if these tickets are going
to be resolved.
