Any chance your new machine has a NVidia Graphics card and your old one did
not? If so, when you boot up the tails stick and see the 'Tails" selection,
make sure it is highlighted (should be) and hit the Tab key before it times
out. Add the line (without the quotes): 'nouveau.modeset=0'. This disables your
Nvidia graphics driver. It works for my machine.
If the above doesn't work, when your stuck on hte blue screen, do a
<ctrl><enter><del> combo and see if it say gnome-desktop-not-responding. If so,
it's probably a graphic card issue. You can try the 'nomodeset' parameter
instead of the 'nouveau.modeset=0' option and see if you can now boot up. In my
case though I get stuck in a VGA resolution.
Let me know how it goes

Subject: [Tails-support] Pls help booting Tails 2.12 on my new laptop!

Although Tails 2.12 loads on my old laptop, it does not load on my new one, but
gets stuck about 3/4 of the way.
Basically the Welcome screen comes up (the one that asks you if you want
persistence, more options). So I choose what I want. Then it goes to the black
screen for a moment and throws out a bunch (maybe 20) lines which end with this
one:
72.865902 [powerplay] min_core_set_clock not set
And then it gives me ANOTHER welcome screen, which I fill out, and then that
disappears and the screen just stays blue and nothing happens except the
pointer moves around.
Tails 2.11 works great on this machine and I'm using it now to type this.
What to do please?
'Cause when you buy a new laptop, you want to use the new one not the old one.
:-) I'm sure you understand.
