It says, inter alia ... +9.5V DC 2.315A 22W. Certainly NOT a good idea to just connect it to a 12 volt battery. Power needs to be regulated , capable of at least 2.5A ... and protected against the auto environment ... with some kind of anti-splat circuit!!! Maybe your idea of an inverter plus the usual 240V power supply ids a good one!!
