What do you mean by canal? I thought they were saltwater...hence, waterway=coastline is ok? Steve Yes all canals are tidal saltwater, however I understood from the Wiki that the coastline tag was to be used for the actual coast line only and should be connected across river outlets etc. to determine the edge of the continent.
