RE: tourist drives I just noticed today that Google Maps has tourist route shields, eg: https://www.google.com/maps?q=-28.333093,152.296257&hl=en&ll=-28.289266,152.124252&spn=0.500638,0.696945&num=1&t=m&z=11
In this example, however, only the initial shield is displayed (possibly reflecting a paucity of road signage). In other locations, such as: https://www.google.com/maps?q=Tourist+Drive+23,+Landsborough,+Queensland,+Australia&hl=en&sll=-27.567038,151.976793&sspn=0.007875,0.01089&oq=tourist+drive&dirflg=ht&doflg=ptk&hnear=Tourist+Drive+23,+Landsborough+Queensland+4550,+Australia&t=m&z=14 have far more shields displayed. I have also been in touch with Nathan of Southern Downs regional council in QLD who has given me 5 routes (1, 11, 12, 14, 21) so I'll put those in OSM. I asked him if he knew of any other council reps who could give me data, but I think it's going to be a matter of me contacting them myself. I also got a CD of PDFs from Mike Keenan (spelling?) at QLD Main Roads which show routes for many (most?) regional council areas of QLD. These maps have tourist routes marked but they are at a very small scale so digitising will cause errors... possibly. Wil
