Just a word of caution, to say that using historical GPS data will undo
updates covering recent road straightening or other realignments.

The traces are probably more accurate than overhead imagery.

Other features placed relative to roads will also need moving?

I've moved rivers and railway lines in the past when that need was
unambiguous.
