Ok

Divergent views.

I’ll leave the name tag alone, but add the brand tag where missing for ALDI (all caps is more ‘popular’ according to taginfo – world wide search and Australia only search), Woolworths, Coles and IGA. Don’t think there can be any objections to that?

As for 'what we say' .. well going to 'the footy' does not mean the oval has that name... talk leaves lots of detail out except when talking to tourists who probably don't know the local 'features'. Any map would have to assume a lack of local knowledge too.

Yeah, do you go down to Woolies or do you go to <Woolworths Burleigh Heads North (Metro) 2480>: https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/storelocator/qld-burleigh-heads-2480 ?
Thanks

My local Woolworths is named "<suburb> Woolworths" and the nearby
IGA is "<suburb> IGA". The Coles supermarket in a nearby suburb is
"Coles <building_name>".  So the brand seems to form part of the
name in each case.  Thus, for me, the name would be "<suburb>
Woolworths" and, if considered necessary to add a brand, then the
brand would be "Woolworths" but probably not necessary.

I recall some service stations where the name and brand are quite
different and where both would be appropriate e.g. "<town> Service
Station" or "<location> roadhouse" could have an additional
"brand=*" as the brand is not included in the name.

Personally I would regard my local Woolworths and IGA supermarkets
    as their respective names.
