Recently I noticed the speed cameras I've been adding a few years ago

So I'm in the process of correcting that once again. I also corrected
the wiki. Now it's up to the developers of OsmAND to properly use the
node with the from role from the enforcement relation as it was meant
to be used. Otherwise the users of this great software will not be
very happy, when they don't get warnings anymore, due to a faulty
implementation wrt the way information is converted between our way of
tagging and their representation of it.
If it's too hard to work with those relations, it will be necessary to
make an interpolation from the camera to the highway to determine a
virtual node.
Those enforcement relations were invented years ago because when one
adds a speedcam as a node on the way, one can't know in what direction
it's pointing and for which direction of traffic a warning is needed.
I consider what has happened here as an unfortunate step backwards,
causing information loss.
Another problem we have is that some users who are using OSMAND like
osmand_pieter don't respond to messages we send them about the faults
in their way of tagging. It's not clear whether this is related to
OSMAND itself.
I also didn't try with iD yet. Hopefully this is not something caused
by that editor.
Hi Jo,
I agree , it's demotivating to say the least. He just keeps adding
camera's as if he things they aren't any there. There is no response on
my messages either. It' concentrated in our area in fact (from mechelen
- BXL - Leuven triangle), probably why we keep seeing that duplicate
information come in. Sometimes there is some maxspeed information
added. which is the only reason I actually try to merge his 'work'
instead of just deleting it. I'm not to far away from doing such a move.
Perhaps you tried to forget the editor wars from a wile ago as fast as I
wanted, but someone correctly pointed oud that it's probably not OSMAND
that does it, it is however present in his username which kind of
sounds like some default suggestion is responsible for this. We'll
never know.
I'm very annoyed by this duplicate work personally
Glenn
