Most Belgian users are seeing the website in their own language, right? I recently changed the duplicate "Mijn opmerkingen", which was used both for Notes and Diary comments. Diary comments are now marked as "Mijn reacties". I just made the change (which was later improved upon) through translatewiki.net . I didn't think of any mailing list where you should discuss this in advance. Woops? If anyone feels like getting OSM to change the name of "Notes", go ahead. I'll pass on that one. But changing the translation will be easier.
In Dutch it is now called "Opmerkingen bij kaarten". Maybe we should change that to "Fout melden"? In French it's "Notes de carte". Any suggestion for improvement there? We might have a quick revert there from the French community if we just go ahead. And we could get in touch with the Dutch community too if we agree on an alternative. To answer the original question, I see two options: - have them use the Question mark to see what's there. Then they can pick the object they want, and send a link like this one instead: http://www.openstreetmap.org/way/99064449 The same can be achieved using the Data layer - refer them to a service like Umap <http://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/map/new/> , where you can make a simple map in seconds, without having to log in. But of course, the harm is already done by that time. Also, I would like to use this moment to apologize for my personal abuse of Notes as a personal reminder of things I need to fix later. 2015-11-04 15:43 GMT+01:00 Jo <[email protected]>: > Maybe we should make it clearer that the notes are in order to improve the > map. > > Maybe renaming them to "Corrections?
