I have been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and creativity of the talk-ca list and the discussion of the GeoBase import project. I wonder if we would find it helpful to have as many of us as possible to meet in person, and some others join us by video / teleconference? I expect it will be useful somewhere on the scale from "fairly useful" to "incredibly useful" but I am certain that it will be a huge amount of fun.
