Just an FYI, (for those who dont know)the coast line data that you see already on OSM, comes from http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Almien_coastlines_(PGS)
Im not sure to what extent this effects the NHN. If the NHN would be imported as nodes with reference back to the source, and the users could connect-the-dots, that might possably work better.
