No, I thought the ways within the same import block were sharing nodes. In fact it worked like this at one point, http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=53.0304&lon=-117.3277&zoom=14 Somewhere along the line I must have broken something in my script. I will write a script to find + merge the geobase imported nodes.
