Hi, Its not that the polygon for the land island is wrong, its just that the GeoBase NHN -HD_ISLAND_2.osm as well as the canvec VE_1240009_2 wooded area shows more detail.
I have it listed as bug6&7 on the wiki. http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Talk:Canvec2osm#Bug6:_CanVec_Hydrographic_Obstacle_entity_vs._coastline I'll post a screen shot of what i'm talking about and have it available on the wiki also. (A picture is worth an essay or 2 :-) Cheers, Sam ... and i posted a note on openstreetbugs.org . :) as i deleted it and have it as no-name. .. since Im still trying to figure it out.. http://openstreetbugs.appspot.com/?lon=-125.53999392178457&lat=48.928320345616534&zoom=13 On 4/9/09, Steve Singer <[email protected]> wrote: > On Wed, 8 Apr 2009, Sam Vekemans wrote: > >> Hi, >> in some spots (vancouver island) i see that the line actually cuts >> through small edges of land. > > Is the border wrong, or is the polygon in that draws the land/island wrong? > But openstreetbugs.org is probably a good way of kicking track of these > places until somene can investigate them further. > > > >> >> Odds are that International waters starts at a certain distance off-shore. >> >> I will be importing coastal islands and nav-aids such as lighthouses and >> buoys. >> >> I think its best to notify geobase as they can move it in the GeoBase set. >> Then once they update it, we can us it to trace the fixes. >> We can use OpenStreetBugs.org and pinpoint the spots that need to be >> fixed. >> >> There arn't TOO many of them, so it should be fine. >> >> cheers, >> Sam >> >> _______________________________________________ >> Talk-ca mailing list >> [email protected] >> http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-ca >> > > _______________________________________________ Talk-ca mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-ca
