So, how does GeoBase go about determining where the roads are? I happened to find something interesting in the GeoBase data.
There's a little jog in Township Road 520. This is not a real world artifact. This road is just about arrow straight through there. http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=53.45428&lon=-113.23219&zoom=15&layers=B000FTF There's another smaller jog in Township Road 522 two miles north. http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=53.48161&lon=-113.23352&zoom=15&layers=B000FTF The interesting part is when you go into edit mode. These anomalies occur right where the Yahoo Imagery ends. Coincidence?
