Hi,
I just saw you added the data.
Did you delete what was originally there?
.. 'cause you wern't supposed to just quite yet :(

Because it's an import, rather than just regular mapping, it takes longer.

The reason i ask is that proper attribution is needed ie. add the source
tags.
You can see what source tags i'm using, and you can see what source tags are
used with GeoBase2osm script.

You don't need to revert changes, but PLEASE message the talk-ca list with
what your doing. :)

please check,
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Import
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Potential_Datasources

Those tags need to be added, and its usually done and discussed BEFORE
importing. There are are about 75 people on the list, so it takes time to
hear back from everyone. (some people are on vacation right now)

I know it's exciting to add new data. .. But it needs to be properly
attributed.

If you like, i'll help with that, what program did you use to make the
conversion?
And also the wiki page for Nanaimo needs to be updated.

http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Canada:British_Columbia:Nanaimo

Anyway, it's great to see more more mapping done.

here's the tags, that (most-likely) should be used.

attribution=City of Nanaimo
source=
http://www.nanaimo.ca/EN/main/departments/Engineering-Public-Works/4489/DigitalData.html

Im now going to message the Enginering Department: Jason Birch myself to get
confirmation that "yes, you have permission to upload the data". Because
from the website, it is not very clear if the data is "free" or if it is
meant for 'personal use'.

I'll update the Nanaimo Wiki page also.
Cheers,
Sam
