Well thats fine, A quick email summary then. 1 -OpenStreetMap foundation is going to be 3 years old in August. With over 100,000 contributors, Happy Birthday!
2 -Its made up of volunteers, with no direct financial gain, just in the pride that we, the people of the world, are making a map that is totally free for anyone to use and edit. :-) 3 - Garmin maps; Cycle routing; iphone map; 3d maps; SHP files; wikiTravel maps; wikipedia maps etc. There is no limit to what creative things people can make using the OSM database. :-) 4 So if you see where the map needs improvement, local mappers in the area can help. What we do is have get-to-gethers, or mapping parties. 5 - join the [email protected] discussion list, to see how you can help. 6 - on aug 11th im hosting a Vancouver island OpenStreetMap party in Victoria. All those interested are welcome to attend. I can show you all in person the answers to many of your questions. (details will be posted to the talk-ca list and on the wiki.)
