I'd definitely be interested in attending such an event and learning from other people, time permitting of course. Thanks for organizing this, face to face meetings are very valuable for building community. As a participant in more than a few of these things over the last few years, I might humbly suggest that a formal sponsor isn't absolutely necessary for an event like this. I'm not very familiar with Ottawa anymore, but I'm sure there's any number of organizations or businesses that would be happy to donate their space for an event like this, either for the publicity or the business it would bring in. That's basically all you need. Sponsors for t-shirts, food, etc. are a nice bonus, but not strictly required. The barcamp Ottawa page might give you some inspiration on where to start looking: http://barcamp.pbworks.com/OttawaCamps Cheers, -- William Lachance [email protected] _______________________________________________ Talk-ca mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-ca
