Hi James & talk-ca list, What i'll do now is create the list of all the features in the GeoBaseNHN & NRN data sets, listing what needs to be added to canvec (or might be in progress) of the differences in the datasets. -i'll post it (or a link) to the wiki for those curious :-)
re: CanVec roads it shouldnt be to hard to create a python version of canvec-to-osm, to handle the canvec roads (the java version 'might' be able to, otherwise, i'll need a volunteer who wants to help & knows how to work geobase2osm for reference) We use(d) geobase for the 1st round draft pick, because the full province size file is available as gml, where a mega-size conversions can be done, and road matcher can do its magic. It will be fine to make .osm files from canvec roads, and make them available, to play with. (and nice tile size areas are easier for local people) -i can put the 'duplicate nodes roads' back (maybe i just label it as such, and in the extra folder) and Daniel, thanks for that email announcement, i'll be in touch in the next weeks to get the login details. And oh ya, if others also want to help in the conversion & upload process please let me know so were in sync and no toe stepping on. And james, ya, i already contacted Steve Singer about if he has a back up of that file. And a big hats-off to Adam who is doing an Awesome job in northern BC interior and getting the roads and running road matcher. :) thats all for now, cheers, Sam _______________________________________________ Talk-ca mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-ca
