Hi all, Katie Filbert is planning on remotly attending the workshop this weekend, & connect with those key people who will be able to give accesss to the data. http://opencityworkshop.eventbrite.com/
If anyone can help, i think that would be appreciated. On a side note, im just looking at what the Provincial government has, and it appears that it's governed under the Ministry of Energy, (rather than Natural Resources). It appears that wonderful GIS data is technically available (so that's the 1st step). But the license doesn't allow the "unrestricted End-user license agreement' that we hope for. http://www.ags.gov.ab.ca/about_ags.html So anyway, for those interested, it would be a great way to get noticed & make a little noise :) Fortunatly, however, (for us) this time next year, the OSM map of the Edmonton area will be 'significantly enhanced' once the Natural Resources Canada (canvec) data gets used. (you can use Quebec / South-west Ontario (Woodstock area) / Vancouver Island (west coast trail area) as examples of the quality coverage). (Im now taking a look at the WMS layer from NRCan Toporama to see what can be done to make the downtown area a little better).
