... In other news... Spring is approaching in some parts of the country. .... So that means its almost time for a Canada Wide Mapping party marathon.
As im looking at the cyclemap, i can see that some cities have their local cycle network mapped out better than others. This is a great chance to explore your city, and see where the LCN exists. Most cities that have multiple neighboring cities, also have a regional cycle network. I noticed on the Diary entry post than Michael was interested in the toronto cyclenetwork. http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/Michael%20Holloway/diary/9716 & when i was in toronto in January, i had a look at the toronto cyclemap, and could see that there are some gaps remaining when compared to Opencyclemap. Over here in Victoria, I know that there are at least 2 regional cycle routes that need to be mapped. So im thinking that perhaps mid-april, say the 14th? we could do a trans-canada mapping party with the goal to complete our regional cycling routes? If anyone is interested, feel free to update the Canada wiki-page with details on your city and where & when you'll be hosting a mapping party. I might be in Princeton, BC at that day, . .. so hopefully, with enough people, we can have events going on in many cities and getting the regional trails mapped.
