I will be going to StateOfTheMap this year. Although I'll be back to living in the UK by then.
It's really great, I would try and persuade anyone who can make it to come along. The unscheduled time is great, you'll probably mean people from all over the place and learn lots of things about why things are done in OSM the way they are (for better or for worse). I went to the 2008 conference in Limmerick, Ireland and had a great time.
