You should consider submitting a talk or workshop. First, understand that SotM Calls for Papers may sound formal, and formal papers will certainly be considered, but rather casual submissions are also appropriate. In my experience, a concise abstract can be accepted. Got an idea? Something to share? A topic you care about, but want to discuss with others? You should submit a paper.
