Hi Tyler, cc:talk-ca Well, there is lots of Natural Protected areas that can be imported in the Manitoba area. As well as the Aborigional lands data.
For the canvec data, the script is available, in python. So others are doing their own conversion. So you can ask on the talk-ca@ list. The canvec samples that daniel begin just sent out, is the most current version of the tags to use. Others are on the main IRC chat #osm on oftc.net For the Natural protected areas & geobase aboriginal lands, its just opening the files in JOSM and copying in the localist data, and fixing up the tags to see whats best. I have done a few samples around the Marathon, Ontario area. But not sure if the tags are the best. And it needs that english / french labels to be fixed/added, if people like it.
